What to expect at one of our weekend services.

10:30am on Sundays at the Knicely Conference Center

Sunday Service is where we gather together for worship and receive Bible teaching. It's the place where we're reminded of what's true, and where we're spurred on to live out what we believe the other six days of the week. It is also where we can invite friends to hear the simple truth about who Jesus is and what He's done for them.

We know that going to a church for the first time can be an intimidating experience, full of questions like "What is going to happen?" "Will I be dressed right?" "What will the worship be like?" "Will there be people there like me?" We don't want you to be unsure about trying out Rock Hills Church, so here's what you will want to know.

Before the service

We gather Sundays at 10:30 A.M. at the Knicely Center. At Rock Hills, we know that going to a church for the first time can be an intimidating experience full of questions like, "What's going to happen?" "Will I be dressed right?" "What will the music be like?" "Will there be people there like me?" We don't want you to be unsure about what it's like to visit Rock Hills Church, so here is what you will want to know.

Kids & Youth

We also have an excellent kids program with trusted and trained workers where your children can learn about Jesus in an age appropriate way and in a safe and exciting environment. We are open to receiving your kids  15 minutes prior to each service, and you can go to the Welcome Center in the youth room to find out where they should go. Visit the Kids & Youth page.

During the service

Worship & offering

We start our services with worship by singing songs to God. The worship music is current, ranging from modern hymns to gospel songs. Some respond naturally to God's presence by raising hands, kneeling, clapping, or crying. We just want you to worship in a manner that's real; for us at the Rock Hills, this means low-key, non-hype, heartfelt responses to the Living God. We also set aside time during our services for those who would like to give to God's church. If you are visiting there is absolutely no obligation to give

Teaching

After announcements, one of our pastors will teach from the English Standard Version of the Bible (if you don't own a Bible, we give them away free at the Welcome Center). Because we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, we teach it as it is rather than teaching our own opinion. We aim to teach the Bible in a way that is clear and understandable to all, regardless of church experience, and also in a way that challenges us to put it into practice.

Prayer

As the last worship song plays at the conclusion of each service, those who want prayer will be invited forward and someone from our prayer team will pray for you. Nobody will pressure you to go forward to receive prayer, but the opportunity is there if you have things you'd like God's help with.

After the service

The service lasts for an hour and 15 minutes; we start on time and end on time, so you can make plans for the rest of your day. Please feel free to hangout and meet people. We would definitely like to meet you! For parents, please pick up your kids within 20 minutes of the service ending.
